Remember when Alan Sokal published a gibberish paper in Social Text and people around the world proclaimed the death of postmodern literary theory and the exposure of the post-structuralist Emperor’s lack of clothes?
Now that MIT students have done the same thing in a scientific journal, I expect all those pathetic naysayers to join hands and proclaim the death of science the scientific method…

Of course, we will have a ready answer to those naysayers, since those cases are not representative at all – quiet the opposite, it was specifically targeted at those which were suspect to have low (or no?) standards at all.
btw: I really liked Sokal and Bricmont’s book.
I thought the book was rather sad—but then I’ve reached a point in my life where I much prefer productive analysis over repetitious criticism. The book could have been 1/5 the length and still made the very few points it made!
