The main Etech conference kicked off today with Rael Dornfest’s keynote that talked about the evolution of what has become the Etech conference. A few other important bits:

Aggregation is not the same as Attenuation. (Can the attention stream help with this? Is that attentuation?)

Context is irreplaceable… current tools isolate information.

Too much attention is paid to spam and the spam-like.

If you aren’t more concerned about what’s unread in your aggregator than your email you soon will be.

Currently, groups are not normalized. We can’t be as selective in our social network presence as we would like to be.

Attenuation is the next aggregation. (I agree– whether it will turn out to be as revolutionary as many of us would like to think, it can’t be denied that we are just at the beginning of radical changes in the “social mesh”)
