Please Note the Date

of my last post? The first. of April. The secret to a good April Fool’s prank is that the prank has to have some element of truth and match one’s (in this case impulsive) personality.

But there was a lot of truth toward the end– I would gladly trade the experience of creating a single truly great poem for pretty much everything I’ve ever done in educational technology, but I suspect most artists feel that way about their “day jobs.” It really makes me feel grateful at having a job I actually love (most of the time) and co-workers I like working with. Imagine being stuck in a horrible job?

So, no, the I did not win the lottery (familial or otherwise) and won’t be going anywhere quite yet.

I had a semi-horrible job once working for a television news station in Portland. I was paid minimum wage and was expected to be at everyone’s beck and call all the time (I was the floor director). It was exciting at times, I’ll give it that, but otherwise a horrible job.
