I looked through one pipe, NTY through Flickr. I’m not sufficiently interested in the late Ms. Smith to be swayed by that particular demo. Maybe you could link to a couple of the pipe you think rock? B^)
The Times Reader? Can’t help wondering how much data that 1/3Gig monster is sending to the NSA…or TRW…or… But it’s the future, I believe; I’d expect whatever groovy features the reader has to show up other places just as soon as folks figure out how cool they are.
Your link log _does_ get me off my beaten path; thanks!

I particularly like the annotations in the Times Reader, though I don’t use it very often. It’s something that can be adapted to the web, but it isn’t quite as functional there.
re: Pipes. I’m excited about the kind of application Pipes represents and that it is one of the first tools that puts data mashups in the hands of end users. Being able to tie feeds of data to other applications allows for sites like: ChicagoCrime, the Tunisian Prison map, and the historical mapping of the Soweto uprisings. But until now that kind of mashup has been the province of people with much higher technical skills than the majority of users who would LIKE to be able to create such things. Earthshaking application? I think so. Earthshaking applications built with it so far? None that I see, but it has only been 72 hours and it is the first generation of the tool…
You’ll have to browse Pipes to see if anything floats your boat
