Segmenting

After some time away thinking, rethinking, and re-rethinking the intersections (and not) of my work life and my creative life, I’m going to slowly develop a new, segmented presence on the web. Given that I’ve totally given in to the Borgian (and sometimes Borgesian) Google machine, whose tools run through everything, I wish the Google Gods made that segmentation a bit easier. As it stands, maintaining the separation in my own activities means using a combination of Chrome, Firefox (and Prism), and Opera depending on which of my selves are manifesting themselves at any given moment.

On the other hand, I have some hope that the separation in the process will be a good thing for productivity, allowing me to more deeply focus on the constellation of tasks at hand and maybe even put some sustained energy into what I’m doing… a characteristic sadly lacking in my work for a while.

While I don’t have any hope of achieving CogDog-levels of self-reflection or Gardnerian heights of insight, and am unlikely to reach Lambian levels of eclecticism (though along the way I might end up with a collection of miscellany to rival the Groomiana Codex) or scale the heights of Leslian consciousness, I’ll once again try to do what I can to share what little I know… and hopefully learn a lot more from you.

To quote Bernard Mickey Wrangle… “Yum”

I’m eager to see the Ruminate blog light up my RSS Reader again (I never let it lapse).

Enough modesty, you taught me quite a lot with the Motley Reader project a few clicks back; bring on more (segmented_) stuff!

Yeah! We love you. We missed you. We’ll take you in whatever form and amounts we can get.

And what a great new theme!

@Jared Are you being sarcastic or serious? I picked it because I like the look, but wasn’t sure if I should keep it or go with something that has a bit more room for more stuff!

I’m loving the rejuvenated Ruminate already…
